When Big Pixel Creative were approached to develop the new website for Belfast Exposed, it became apparent very quickly that housing over 300,000 photos in one place was a mammoth task.
Aside from the photography, Belfast Exposed also had a very complex sitemap with many pages hidden. We wanted this to be simplified and show all areas of the site within easy reach for the user.
Kristam and David lead this project and continually kept the client in close contact to ensure what we proposed was exactly how BX and their users expected the site to function.
One of our favourite features on the new BX website is the use of the mega menu. It's not the first time we have used this style of menu before but this allows users to see what exhibitions are currently on without any clicks at all. As the user hovers over the menu, it drops down and a simple animated slide shows.
